Cumbria waste study targets tourism industry

A new study looking at the waste produced by the tourism industry in the Central Lake District is now underway.

The findings of the study will be used to identify new recycling initiatives, opportunities for new services and new local jobs, with a view to making Cumbria’s tourism industry more sustainable and the area more attractive as a ‘green’ destination.

New Business Advice Team

Resource Futures is delighted to announce the acquisition of a specialist business advice team and School Education team from Envolve Sustainable Partnerships based in Bath:

The Business Advice team provides specialist advice to businesses on resource efficiency. Services include:

Director appointments finalised

Fridey Cordingley

The appointment of Fridey Cordingley to the newly created post of Communications Director completes the planned expansion of our senior management and consultancy team. Fridey comes to us from WRAP where she is Head of Recycle Now and we look forward to her taking up her appointment at the end of August.

Other recent appointments have been: Ray Georgeson as non executive Director, Dr Julian Parfitt as Technical Director and Mike Moore as Financial Director.

Community RePaint

Community RePaint provides an innovative solution to the 56 million litres of paint left unused in the UK each year. Surplus paint from retailers, householders, and painting and decorating companies is passed on to charities, voluntary organisations and community groups, for decorating premises such as village halls or youth clubs.

Events Recycling

With eleven years experience servicing a wide range of events - from the Labour Party Conference to Glastonbury Festival - Network Recycling is a leading expert in its field. Our aim is to maximise recycling rates and reduce the waste sent to landfill, whilst providing an efficient service. We only provide services where the event organisers are committed to recycling a large portion of their waste.

NHHWF

The National Household Hazardous Waste Forum (NHHWF) is managed by Resource Futures.It is a stakeholder-led initiative which seeks practical solutions to the many problems associated with the management of household hazardous waste (HHW), including collection, recycling and safe disposal.

CAG Oxfordshire

Community Action Groups (CAG), is a network of local groups, who are supported by Resource Futures, working to increase awareness of waste issues and reduce the amount of resources that we throw away.
